About Niki Najafi
Clinical Psychologist and Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC-MH)
Niki is a compassionate psychologist with a special interest in working with individuals who struggle with eating disorders and disordered eating. As a Clinical Psychologist and Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician with the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED), she offers a warm, empathetic, and collaborative approach to treatment. Niki’s focus is on empowering her clients to take meaningful steps toward recovery, creating a safe, inclusive and affirming space that is tailored to the unique needs of each individual.
Niki has a particular passion for supporting clients in improving body acceptance and fostering a positive relationship with food and eating. She enjoys working with people of all bodies, genders, and abilities and practices from a neurodiverse-affirming and Health at Every Size (HAES) framework. With a strong belief in holistic care, Niki values collaboration within multidisciplinary teams to enhance outcomes and client experiences.
Niki is trained and draws up evidence-based treatments such as Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT-E), Family-Based Treatment (FBT), Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM), Schema therapy, Eye-Movement Reprocessing and Desensitisation (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), CBT for Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (CBT-AR), and Acceptance commitment therapy (ACT). She has experience across diverse settings, including academia, schools, community-based NGOs, hospital inpatient and outpatient programs, and private practice.
Beyond her expertise in eating disorders, Niki enjoys supporting individuals navigating adult neurodivergence (Autism and ADHD/ AuDHD), anxiety and mood disorders (such as depression and bipolar disorder), trauma (PTSD and CPTSD), low self-esteem, and challenges related to alcohol and other substance misuse. Using a trauma-informed and neuroaffirming lens, Niki strives to provide a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their challenges, make meaningful changes, and build a more positive and fulfilling relationship with food, their bodies, and wellbeing.
