Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP)

The medicare rebate for psychology sessions is currently $96.65 - $141.85 per session, for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. You will need a current Mental Health Treatment Plan to claim the Medicare rebate for your psychology sessions. Your usual GP or psychiatrist can help you organise a MHTP if you don’t already have one.

Eating Disorder Treatment Plan (EDTP)

The medicare rebate for psychology sessions is currently $96.65 - $141.85 per session, for up to 40 sessions per calendar year. You will need a current Eating Disorder Plan to claim the Medicare rebate for your psychology sessions. Your usual GP or psychiatrist can help you organise an EDTP if you don’t already have one. Private Health Insurance

Private health insurance may cover some of the fee for psychology sessions. However, the amount covered will be dependent on your level of cover in your policy. Please note that for each session, you may claim a rebate from either Medicare or your Private health fund, but not both.
